Driven by a desire for creation and expression, Audrey Levasseur-Ruel began studying Visual Arts at a very early age at Cégep du Vieux Montréal in 2017 and at the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2019, where she specialized primarily in painting, drawing, and collage. She then turned her artistic interests toward a new medium, ceramics, by enrolling in the Technique en métiers d'art program at the Bonsecours Ceramics Center. Exploring themes of play and childhood, she developed, through traditional techniques, a formal, utilitarian, and artistic approach to clay.

Through coil shaping, modeling, the use of colored clay, but also through drawing on turned forms, Audrey Levasseur-Ruel explores the gestures and iconography specific to that of the child in a profoundly playful approach to the material. Thus, in a playful relationship with the ceramic medium, her collection is driven by a desire for constant exploration, both of techniques, decorations and forms.
