Anja Jamrozik x Petit Magasin

$30.00
- Porcelain
- 7 cm height x 8 cm diameter
- 6oz
Handmade porcelain cups with expressive brushstrokes. Brown pairs perfectly with coffee or tea, green complements matcha or green tea, and classic blue harmonizes with any beverage. Each cup is hand-painted with bold, gestural brushstrokes on both the exterior and interior, making each piece unique. Ideal for everyday use or as a gift.

Anja Jamrozik is a Montreal-based ceramicist who uses the potter's wheel and other techniques.
hand-built to create functional and decorative pieces.
Born in Poland and raised in the United States, Anja discovered her love for ceramics the first time she tried her hand at the potter's wheel. Having already collected a blue and white ceramic dining room set from antique shops, flea markets, and during her travels, this perhaps shouldn't have come as a surprise.
Working primarily with porcelain, Anja creates simple yet refined pieces that
incorporate pictorial techniques, whether in painted illustration or in application
more abstract than the glaze.
Her work is rooted in a dialogue between contemporary personal narratives and narratives drawn from the history of art and ceramics. Inspired by these older works, the resulting pieces reflect a deep emotional engagement, individual interpretation, and personal symbolism.
Using a deliberately limited palette, Anja creates pieces that can complement and respond to one another. Ceramics are made to be used and touched: each piece also invites touch and interaction that goes beyond the visual.
