"Hello, my name is Meg, I am a ceramicist and founder of Petit Magasin. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

I fell deeply in love with clay almost 10 years ago during my first class when I tore off a piece and threw it onto a potter's wheel.

It's funny... Everyone I meet always says they've always wanted to "try pottery" - I understand now - there's something profoundly intoxicating about the whole process from beginning to end.

It's the perfect blend of earth, alchemy, chaos, and magic.

I experiment with many forms of pottery: wheel throwing, slab building, hand-building, and sculpture – it's fun – especially when you blur the lines. All my pieces are made in my small, slow-paced studio – I draw inspiration from my favorite people, travel, our two beautiful cats, and of course, the desire to create pieces that I believe should exist in this world – there's no such thing as too much art!

My designs are intended to combine functionality and elegance, blending contemporary styles with a touch of colorful whimsy, giving each piece a feel special enough for everyday use. Remember, you really should use the "right pieces" as often as possible!
