Anja Jamrozik x Petit Magasin

$30.00
- Porcelain
- 7 cm height x 8 cm diameter
- 6oz
Handmade porcelain cups with expressive brushstrokes. Brown pairs perfectly with coffee or tea, green complements matcha or green tea, and classic blue harmonizes with any beverage. Each cup is hand-painted with bold, gestural brushstrokes on both the exterior and interior, making each piece unique. Ideal for everyday use or as a gift.

Anja Jamrozik is a Montreal-based ceramist who uses pottery wheel and hand-building techniques to create functional and decorative pieces.
Born in Poland and raised in the USA, Anja discovered her love for making ceramics the first time she tried her hand at the pottery wheel. Having previously collected a dining-room’s worth of blue and white ceramics from antique shops, garage sales, and travels, perhaps it should’ve come as no surprise.
Working predominantly with porcelain, Anja crafts simple but refined pieces that incorporate painterly techniques, whether in painted illustration or in more abstract application of glaze.
Her work is rooted in a conversation between current-day personal narrative and narratives drawn from the history of art and ceramics. Drawing inspiration from these older works, the resulting pieces reflect a deep emotional engagement, individual interpretation, and personal symbolism.
Using a deliberately constrained palette, Anja creates pieces that can complement and respond to one another. Ceramics are made to be used and to be touched: each piece also invites touch and interaction that goes beyond the visual.
