It often happens that we don't remember our dreams. And when we do, they seem hazy, their outlines impossible, their scenes unimaginable. Antoine Eckart, in this sense, draws dreams. His images seem to spring directly from an altered reality, filtered through a mind running wild, more attentive to sensation than to the precise description of events. The Lyon-based artist's trembling line, his mutating characters, and his hesitant forms give his work that delightful dreamlike quality, that inimitable dose of poetry. The important thing here is not to recreate things but to convey their essence, their very essence. And thus, to get closer to their true nature.
