    Led by Montreal calligrapher Christian Bélanger, Brief offers you a one-day workshop to learn the basics of Fraktur writing using exercises on the deconstruction, order and direction of the strokes that make up each letter, and discover the nuances, creativity and pleasure that can come from it.

    All participants will receive a workbook containing samples of inspiring calligraphy to take home, as well as all the theoretical information and alphabet models used during the course.

    Who is Christian Bélanger?
    Christian Bélanger was born in Montreal in 1977 and graduated in music and graphic design.

    Following his studies in 2003, he worked as a freelance and independent graphic designer, working mainly in the cultural field with several artists, design studios, publishing houses and other interesting clients. Christian has been rewarded for his work, notably by the Grafika competition.

    Eager for new work experiences, he joined the teaching team at Cégep Marie-Victorin in March 2011 to broaden his knowledge, while helping students on their journey.

    Christian Bélanger has always been passionate about the graphic representation of the written letter. Whether it is traditional or contemporary calligraphy, Christian wants to share this love through workshops and projects of all kinds.
