Catherine Lavoie is a multidisciplinary artist from Quebec City. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts, she first worked in set design before launching her career as a freelance artist.

Her inspirations come from vintage graphics, primitive art, and traditional printmaking. She has developed a minimalist and colorful language that unfolds across a wide variety of mediums and projects.

With ceramics, she adopts a more intuitive and gestural approach, where drawing becomes a direct, almost raw gesture. This work also feeds into her two-dimensional practice, leading her toward a more pictorial, free, and spontaneous aesthetic.
