These sterling silver rings are the epitome of high school rebellion. Created using the simplest of tools (an X-Acto knife and a Bic lighter), they’re a raw nod to the DIY ethos, where imperfection is true beauty. Each piece is an homage to the rough edges and stained lines of those formative years, when we carved out our identities with whatever we had at hand.

Bramble Lee Pryde (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist who creates jewelry and homeware under the name Subject Object, a forward-thinking brand that defies conventional boundaries. Known for her sharp wit and unfiltered voice, Bramble brings a deeply personal and raw perspective to her designs, creating jewelry and homewares that resonate with those who seek self-expression and value individuality. Their work is a fusion of techniques drawn from their diverse backgrounds in sculpture, textiles, and visual arts.

Bramble explores themes of identity, nostalgia and the collective human experience. Influenced by the cultural renaissance of the 90s, their art reflects a commitment to challenging convention and celebrating uniqueness.

A recent artist residency at the Berlin Art Institute had a significant impact on Bramble’s work, allowing them to explore the interplay between jewelry, visual art, and haptic experiences, profoundly changing their creative approach. Recent exhibitions include Para Social Paradox at Contemporary Calgary for LOOK: Dada Ball and a solo show, I’m Fine, It’s Fine…Art, at The Underground Gallery, where their series Dreadlings was presented. These exhibitions paved the way for their new collection, Existential Adornment, which continues Bramble’s exploration of deeply resonant themes through wearable art.

Felting became a hobby that remained mostly in the background while I spent my twenties training and working as a contemporary dancer.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eAnd then I became a mom, and I was brought back to my desire to make things with wool.
