Felt flower [various colors]

Margaret Jane Design

$24.00
This felted flower is made by first felting puffs of merino wool to create the
petal. Then a ball of felted wool is sewn onto the petal. And finally, the flower is sewn
on a wire rod wrapped in paper.

The contrast in texture and shape gives the flower a very captivating silhouette.
stem is sturdy and can be bent as you like. The stem can be cut or bent if you want to arrange them in a vase at different heights.

You will not receive the exact flower shown in the photos, but each one will have
about the same size and will look like the flower shown. That's the beauty of
unique handmade creations.

The petal measures approximately 5" and with the stem each flower measures approximately 19" tall.

"I fell in love with wool felting when I was a teenager. While browsing the internet at a very young age, I was amazed by these colorful, sculptural scarves made by a woman in New York, and was compelled to try making one for myself. After many failed attempts, I managed to create something I was proud to wear. Felting became a hobby that remained mostly in the background while I spent my twenties training and working as a contemporary dancer.

And then I became a mom, and I was brought back to my desire to make things with wool. I started Margaret Jane Design as a way to explore all the ideas that were brimming over in my mind and have spent the last 9 years trying to push the boundaries of what felted wool can be. I still feel like there is so much I want to do with this medium and I am thrilled to have the chance to join this group of talented artists for a small shop."
